Nuns be crazy 🇨🇵

Heyyy

Transfer week was crazy! BUT HEY first Christmas miracle.. I saw McBride ❤️❤️I looked like a smooshed marshmallow drop or else I would send the picture.
I picked up my New Collègue, Sœur Bookwalters just in time for Christmas! She is in transfer 4 and is from Colorado. And super super sweet.
We have seen some cool stuff together already and even ported two full great and spacious buildings. Weird things happened there..
We also went finding with Yuna, a recent convert. We went and visited her Friday morning then she called us later and asked if she could come with us for a couple hours. Our rendezvous fell through so we went finding! At one point she looked over at an apartment building and was like "that one" and we were like haha okay.. So we went up to the building and the guy who works as like the guard there came out and talked to us. Lonnnggg story short Yuna is now taking Spanish lessons from Rudolf and we gave him the Book of Mormon and will be meeting with him in two weeks. Haha Yuna is my hero.
On Saturday we went to see a recent convert/less active named Germanie.
When we got there she had a friend named Joseph there. He was super nice and participated as we shared a little Christmas Pensée. Afterwards we gave him a Book of Mormon and Germanie shared her testimony and conversion story - and I'm sure we will see Joseph Bientôt 😊
Another Christmas miracle...Happy came to church!! That's the first ami at church we've had since I got here. Yeah it's a miracle! Christmas Eve we had a great rendezvous and ate some fish and caviar and a lot of cake. Then Christmas..YAYYY family Skype woohoo🎉🎉 (I'm gonna leave it at that)

I'm just really excited for this new transfer, I think Sœur Bookwalter and I will work well together. Okay see ya!

Torcy Week 37

Hi I'm staying in Torcy.

Okay so theme of my weekly this week is that I love people. (not members though because no will feed us on Christmas haha lol kidding but not hehe) but I'm just really grateful for dope people so here are some dope people that make life good

Saron. Young guy from Ethiopia who has lived in France for 3 years and just recently moved to Torcy. He's got two little babies and is Evangelist. We were at the bus stop right next to the church and he asked what church it was. He asked us what is different about our church so we explained The Book of Mormon and Living day prophets. "Can I have one of those books, in English, one day?" I had an English one in my bag from the day before, I was going to take it out before we left but was like nah I'm gonna need it. It might seem like a pretty tiny miracle but he was humble and determined to read it, so pray he finds the same magic and truth that we all do in the Book of Mormon.

Patrice. We were porting in Pontault on Friday and this young dad opened the door with his son but he looked really occupied. We told him who we were and asked if we could stop by another time, that's when people are like yeah yeah see yah bye but he was like next week, Friday night at 5:30. And was soooo nice. We walked away mouths open haha

Okay also Frère Blackie, one of our neighbors who we always see on the street. He is atheist and makes fun of us but he also walks us home at night and buys us clementines. That's a conversion that will happen. Chelsea, if you remember her from past weeklies. She is stinking adorable we keep seeing her and I love her. She finally met the Elders today and called them babes and made them blush so hard haha. Rana workers, there is a kebab shop on the corner on the way home. The workers wave at us and call us les filles et les anges and Katie, the waitress comes and gives us a Gros bisous and huge hug (because our moms can't) ah I love her.

Okayyyy me and my new comp sr booky will find lots more miracle people.
YAYYYY CHRISTMAS I CAN'T WAIT TO SKYPE OH MY GOODNESS

Okay life is good haha bonne semaine!

Week 36: Torcy

HEY

This week didn't exist haha it started then it ended.
On Tuesday, we went to Roissy-En-Brie to share a Christmas message with a few less actives, we couldn't find the first apartment so we asked a lady on the street for help and she was like oh yeah come with me I'll show you where it is. We helped her with her groceries and talked and she was so sweet. She was like you have to meet my son so we waited in front of her house for him and he came up with all of his friends, like five 16 yr old girls. The girls were like that address isn't here!! So then they typed in the address and we went on a hunt with them. For at least an hour. We didn't even end up finding it but they were so amazing, and Christ-like. I don't know if I would have done that as a 16 yr old.

We had another amazing rendezvous with Manoucheca and her family. We went through the 10 scripture chain that teaches Retab with them and they loved it. I need a video of them, next time. Since our rendezvous they have been reading the Book of Mormon from the beginning together. Roosevens says he is going to name his son Nephi, haha, YES DO IT!

This week we played soccer in the hail so it's probably time to be done with early morning soccer. :/ We also had stake conference and I wore a red ascot and sang in the choir and then I punched myself in the face after.  Lol!

Week 35: Torcy

Coucou!

We got fruged a lot this week but we prayed with a témoigne so that always makes for a successful week right!?

We had a conference with Elder Sabin and his wife on Wednesday and it was incredible! He was so personal and straightforward and I'm kicking myself for not taking good notes. For a second he talked about how when you have faith in God's plan, life is just an adventure. We know everything is going to work out! He just reminded me of how simple the Gospel is, but also how real it is. Hey and also there was a Nivelles + Braine L'Hood reunion.  (missed you McBride, tell Rollins that I say hi)

Another email of n'importe quoi so sorry.

Have good week! ♥️

1. Happy Christmas
2. Torcy District + a thumb

A nice man saw the Soeurs at the Louvre and emailed us this pic.

Her letter was short today because they spent the day at the Louvre. So enjoy the pictures she sent. :)

She was super excited to see the Mona Lisa

MOM DAD I MADE IT 🙌 I DONE DID 9 MONTHS. well Friday, this week is 9 months.

This week we went to St.Mairie twice to practice our song for Sabin Conference and for interviews. (Where I got roasted by President Sorensen heaven help me) Sabin Conference is this Wednesday and I'm pretty excited.. Not to sing though, haha that's gonna be a joke. But I get to see Burgoyne!!

We saw Manoucheca and Roosevens(9) and Wensley(5) again this week. Dah I love them. Roosevens wants us to bring him to church and to primary and he wants to be baptized. He is the most prepared person I have met and he is 9, we brought a member last week and she was shocked by how mature he was and how well he connected things. We are going to give him a little church tour this week. He is going on a mission one day folks. Manoucheca is happier and more open every time we see her, they are the best little family.

I had two Thanksgivings this week! I thought it was going to be harder being away from you guys, but it wasn't because Thanksgiving isn't a thing here so there was no vibe. But the food wasn't as good. I did have pumpkin pie from Costco so that was a blessing.

Friday and Saturday we had exchanges in Nogent, I was with Sœur Erasmus. We had an amazing exchange with a great rendezvous and miracles. On Saturday, we met with Francis. He had been at his friends baptism last week and they set up a rendezvous. Basically, he was the chillest guy ever and asked questions and became our friend and accepted to be baptized. Bon. That's him with the hot chocolate. He's dope and I'm really sad I don't get to teach him again.

We had a rendezvous yesterday with 5 Nigerians it was so crazy. We thought it was just going to be this lady we met on the RER but it was the whole fam, they were a tough crowd but they gave us a few amens, accepted the Book of Mormon and invited us to meet with them again next week so that's a win :') (that's why we took this happy victory picture)

I finished the Book of Mormon again for the 2nd time. I love it a lot. Every book and person in it blew my mind. If you have doubts, about anything, just read the Book of Mormon. Our Elders found some finding ideas and one is to lend the Book of Mormon instead of giving it out. It has worked so well! We also have been creating a 10 scripture chain that teaches the restoration, it takes 10 minutes to read and people start as soon as they see it. We tried it acting like an ami, and by the end you had the biggest desire to pray about the Book of Mormon. We have also been basing our lessons around the Book of Mormon, using a scripture then discussing the principle. I can't wait to read it as a family again. I love the Book of Mormon.

I have a few of names for the temple for you guy(s)  s'il tu plaît

-Manoucheca Labady
-David Wong
-Giselle + Alban Ramadan

Week 32: Torcy

Coucou ma famille,

Long week but it's over now yay. So after no changes on the repertoire Sœur Hicken decided to chop her hair then realized she can't do it herself so I did it and I've never touched hair before but hey it's not too bad. Sometimes change is really important, and necessary for your sanity.
On Tuesday, we went to see Sahana! Her and her husband are living with one of our members for a year.  They are from India. She is Hindu, doesn't really believe in the doctrine but was raised in it. Hinduism is kind of really cool, I learned a little bit about it in school but I learned so much from her that I never knew! Haha I asked a lot of questions. She is really interested in our temple, so after she gets back from a little visit to India we are going to plan a day to go visit.
Wednesday, we went to the Prada's. They are an amazing couple from Peru who lived in the states for a few years. When they invited us over they were like, we have something American for you.. it was JELLO! And a Peruvian cake, a lot of you probably know the name of it something Leché, so good.
On Friday we met with Happy! She is from Nigeria (she speaks English :)) We gave her a church tour and she loved it, she said she knows that this is a good place. She has only been here for a couple months and doesn't speak french so it might be hard for her at church, but we will see. 😊
On Saturday we decided to pass by Sœur Lucy Lety (cutest name) with cookies.  She is the Relief Society president in our ward. When she didn't answer we decided to wait 5 minutes, as we were about to leave she walked up and was shocked to see us. She had prayed in the temple that day for help in her house, she is trying to build these cartons she bought for storage in August and hasn't been able to figure it out. We got it!
It was hard being not home with you guys this week. I would've hugged you mom!! It's weird teaching Plan du Salut now, because it's more real. But that's okay eternal families man. ❤️ Je vous aime.
There's 40 somethan days until Christmas!! I'm going to make a countdown chain today haha. Christmas is up everywhere here. It's so funny when people try to say Thanksgiving because they cant make the "th" sound, "Shanksgiving" anyway I'M SO EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS, I LOVE MY DORKY LOOKING FAMILY

Hi I'm in Torcy forever and ever

Hey,
So répertoire day was uneventful and my whole district is staying the same. And we now have senior companions I guess (me) and we are to stay in our villes for about 8 months so I might leave my mission after 2 villes 🎉🎉 (un enthusiastic but I will survive... maybe... I hope.. I'm going to cry a lot see yah)
Enough of my negativity... Because Torcy rocks...we met with Chelsea last Monday and got cheesecake and chatted and gave her a Book of Mormon and she is sweet and then randomly texted us throughout the week. She is great!
We got to do some yard work this week and it felt so great yayyyy pants. I collected a lot of pet escargots.
English Classes - We started them on Wednesday and it went so well for the first class. We had three people come, all non-members.
Ruiz family - We had a rendezvous with the Ruiz family, Sr Ruiz and her two daughters. Basically they gave us the spiritual pensée and we just sat there and cried because their testimonies and their love for their family were incredible. It's in the top 5 rendezvouses of my mission.
Also, I locked us out of the apartment and I met a guy named Edwin who was Hindu.  These are pics of Chelsea and Sourivang and these are terrible district photos.. good thing we can retry next transfer.

Week 30: 🇬🇧🕉️🕋

Hi great, great week. I tried peanut butter with pickles bone app the teeth mmm..
This week there was just a continuation of fantastic people making being away from my family and room that much easier and so worth it!

Because miracles always happen Monday nights, God led us to Chelsea. We went to a call opening for a girl in our ward (she's going to Tahiti yayy🌺) and afterwards a ward member offered us a ride to the Gare! We ran onto the RER just in time then when we got off and were headed out the cutest little British accent calls out to us and asks if we are tourists because we were speaking English. We ended up talking for an hour in the Bussy gare about everything and everything and laughing cuz she is stinking hilarious but yeah we taught retab and she was super down. She was raised Catholic but she said she doesn't feel close to God at church, and she doesn't like evangelist churches because they are a little too in your face about God and we were like sweet come to the Mormon church. She said we inspired her and that she knows God wanted her to meet us and she is 18 and super dope.

The Tati's!! The Tati's are both recent converts of almost a year and less active because they work Sundays. Frère Tati is the most faithful guy ever I'm tellin ya and he wants to come to church so bad so it's been amazing working with him and his wife. On Friday we planned to show them a video on temples and then plan a day to go together. We sit down and Frère Tati goes "Hey not this week but the next week I have work off. Can we plan a day to go to the temple in Versailles together? Also, I can come to church this week!"  😮 Ahhhhh and they came.

On Saturday we met Obah + Sumaya + Assiah + etc etc etc. We were batting trying to find a lady named Jeanette but instead found Obah, an Islamic woman + her 5 daughters! She let us in to talk about God and we taught about the restoration and she shared about Islam, I never really knew too much, so it was amazing. We read some of the Quran then we gave them one of the sachets from our Primary Activity! The girls loved it and loved the pictures on the inside of the Book of Mormon. Oh my goodness, cutest little girls. At the end, they said one of their 5 prayers that day with us there and it was AMAZING. They faced the 🕋 and recited a beautiful prayer in Arabic (it sounds like a song) and we just watched and followed along with the Quran. Also little Sumaya had my Jesus plaque on while she was praying to Allah..haha. Then we said a kneeling prayer for their family and got lots of hugs and bizes from the girls and left! It was probably one of my favorite moments from my mission. Never did I ever think I would have little girls with veils on kissing me on the cheek, playing with my hair and drawing me pictures while I talked to their mom about Muhammad.

One of the funniest moments of this week: Sœur Hicken wearing a Grand Teton sweatshirt to do service. Hi we are in France, do you know what that means?? Hahaha too good. I also cleaned a hoarder's house. And had the sensors go off while walking into the grocery store and had a random guy yank up my shirt. Ah Europe..
Bonne Semaine ✌️

Week 28: Torcy

So, good people make life good.. also so does food.   I had O'Tacos 5 times this week. Oh boy, love of my life!

On Tuesday, we were unlocking the church and a lady named Snezana walked up with her son and was like hey is this a church? So we gave her a church tour and she told us how she was in the November 2015 Paris Attacks and God saved her so now she is trying to come closer to him. It was insane, her scars were showing all up her arms.  I was kind of shocked but yeah she is the coolest!

We also saw Yuna this week. She is a recent convert who has trouble coming because her dad doesn't like the church. She is so cool!! She gave us the idea of asking different people about God or Jesus or happiness and making it into one video so we can share it on Facebook, so we started with her!

We also met with Jospehine. We met her on the RER while on exchanges and she loves Jesus so she was like porquoi pas come on over. She made us cookies, we listened to gospel music during our lesson, and talked about Jesus it was awesome.  She was saying she has seen us so many times but for some reason she felt like she should have us over this time. She also has two daughters that she wants to meet with us. She is the funniest Evangelist I've met so far, I stinkin love her. Amennn.

On Saturday we met with Emeraude + her friend. It was my 2nd bible bash of my mission, I went in prepared but everything I brought up she was like honey, you are wrong, tu vois? We got sick of it so we ended up all sharing our conversion stories to Jesus, that ended the lesson well. :)

Today while waiting for the RER with groceries I was drinking a Coke and some French guy came up to me and said "Tu vas grossier" so that ended week 28 well. ♥️

Also, photocred to the Meaux Elders because I didn't have any. (Whoah a drinking fountain in Europe what?)

Okayyyy have a good week my folks!

My week threw up on me but my tablet is fixed

HI, I JUST WENT TO PARIS AND SAW NOTRE DAME, THE LOUVRE, AND THE EIFFEL TOWER. I'LL SEND PICS. AND MY TABLET JUST GOT FIXED HALLELUJAH PRAISE.

My week was stinking packed with miracles + Satan (and agency)  raining on my parade.

Miracle 1) Christelle. Monday night we recieved a referral from Versailles and we were like heck yeah then we got a call from...the referral! "Can you come to my house tomorrow?" Uhhhh BIEN SÛRE GIRLY. Christelle has been researching the church on her own for years, and knows just about everything. She called herself a convert our whole rendezvous and said the only thing she was not sure about was if she could pay a full tithe. Long story short, she is an angel but lives 5 minutes closer to another ward and wants to go there so we have to pass her :( ça va, her and her son enjoyed church on Sunday and I'm so excited for them!

Miracle 2) Fabrice. I set my first baptismal date!! Soeur Hicken met Fabrice while on exchanges on Thursday and we met with him Saturday. The rendezvous went well and he asked a lot of questions, and had read a whole lot of the Book of Mormon before he even came.  Then he just started talking about baptism and long story short he has a baptismal date for the end of November. Here comes Satan though, we get a text from Fabrice that says "Catholics don't accept the Mormon baptism." Bud, you're not even Catholic! But he will still be meeting with us this week so please pray for my guy Fabrice.

This week we also had a primary activity with our stake. The kids wrote their little testimonies in the Book of Mormon and made little candy sacks to give to our amis. Stinkin cute. Afterwards we went to our Primary President's house and gave a little Penseé to her and her husband on the Book of Mormon. I guess he is not a member! And she was so excited because they had stopped reading it together a while ago and now they are going to start again. We will be meeting back with them this week and I'm excited. (Not as excited as her though haha)

Sunday was cool. We had a lesson with our ami Michael...in Mandarin. So cool! Turns out he can't understand anything in English and he has just been smiling and saying yeah to everything haha. We clued in on that, so we had the Mandarin Elders come and meet him. He had been reading the Book of Mormon on his own and is really open and now he will be able to understand so I'm so excited for him! We also got to watch the Ballard Conference on Sunday night. If you can please look it up. I got teary eyed so if that says anything to you GO WATCH IT. Elder Ballard melted my heart a little.
(Note from Mom, the Meeting was Elder Ballard with adult members in Europe)

Also, my comp reminded me to get more coke before Sunday and I am really grateful for that.

Chouette HAVE A GOOD WEEK.  I'm sorry if this all just sounds like shenanigans.  I had to hurry fast.  Okay, bye!
