Week 28: Torcy

So, good people make life good.. also so does food.   I had O'Tacos 5 times this week. Oh boy, love of my life!

On Tuesday, we were unlocking the church and a lady named Snezana walked up with her son and was like hey is this a church? So we gave her a church tour and she told us how she was in the November 2015 Paris Attacks and God saved her so now she is trying to come closer to him. It was insane, her scars were showing all up her arms.  I was kind of shocked but yeah she is the coolest!

We also saw Yuna this week. She is a recent convert who has trouble coming because her dad doesn't like the church. She is so cool!! She gave us the idea of asking different people about God or Jesus or happiness and making it into one video so we can share it on Facebook, so we started with her!

We also met with Jospehine. We met her on the RER while on exchanges and she loves Jesus so she was like porquoi pas come on over. She made us cookies, we listened to gospel music during our lesson, and talked about Jesus it was awesome.  She was saying she has seen us so many times but for some reason she felt like she should have us over this time. She also has two daughters that she wants to meet with us. She is the funniest Evangelist I've met so far, I stinkin love her. Amennn.

On Saturday we met with Emeraude + her friend. It was my 2nd bible bash of my mission, I went in prepared but everything I brought up she was like honey, you are wrong, tu vois? We got sick of it so we ended up all sharing our conversion stories to Jesus, that ended the lesson well. :)

Today while waiting for the RER with groceries I was drinking a Coke and some French guy came up to me and said "Tu vas grossier" so that ended week 28 well. ♥️

Also, photocred to the Meaux Elders because I didn't have any. (Whoah a drinking fountain in Europe what?)

Okayyyy have a good week my folks!

My week threw up on me but my tablet is fixed

HI, I JUST WENT TO PARIS AND SAW NOTRE DAME, THE LOUVRE, AND THE EIFFEL TOWER. I'LL SEND PICS. AND MY TABLET JUST GOT FIXED HALLELUJAH PRAISE.

My week was stinking packed with miracles + Satan (and agency)  raining on my parade.

Miracle 1) Christelle. Monday night we recieved a referral from Versailles and we were like heck yeah then we got a call from...the referral! "Can you come to my house tomorrow?" Uhhhh BIEN SÛRE GIRLY. Christelle has been researching the church on her own for years, and knows just about everything. She called herself a convert our whole rendezvous and said the only thing she was not sure about was if she could pay a full tithe. Long story short, she is an angel but lives 5 minutes closer to another ward and wants to go there so we have to pass her :( ça va, her and her son enjoyed church on Sunday and I'm so excited for them!

Miracle 2) Fabrice. I set my first baptismal date!! Soeur Hicken met Fabrice while on exchanges on Thursday and we met with him Saturday. The rendezvous went well and he asked a lot of questions, and had read a whole lot of the Book of Mormon before he even came.  Then he just started talking about baptism and long story short he has a baptismal date for the end of November. Here comes Satan though, we get a text from Fabrice that says "Catholics don't accept the Mormon baptism." Bud, you're not even Catholic! But he will still be meeting with us this week so please pray for my guy Fabrice.

This week we also had a primary activity with our stake. The kids wrote their little testimonies in the Book of Mormon and made little candy sacks to give to our amis. Stinkin cute. Afterwards we went to our Primary President's house and gave a little Penseé to her and her husband on the Book of Mormon. I guess he is not a member! And she was so excited because they had stopped reading it together a while ago and now they are going to start again. We will be meeting back with them this week and I'm excited. (Not as excited as her though haha)

Sunday was cool. We had a lesson with our ami Michael...in Mandarin. So cool! Turns out he can't understand anything in English and he has just been smiling and saying yeah to everything haha. We clued in on that, so we had the Mandarin Elders come and meet him. He had been reading the Book of Mormon on his own and is really open and now he will be able to understand so I'm so excited for him! We also got to watch the Ballard Conference on Sunday night. If you can please look it up. I got teary eyed so if that says anything to you GO WATCH IT. Elder Ballard melted my heart a little.
(Note from Mom, the Meeting was Elder Ballard with adult members in Europe)

Also, my comp reminded me to get more coke before Sunday and I am really grateful for that.

Chouette HAVE A GOOD WEEK.  I'm sorry if this all just sounds like shenanigans.  I had to hurry fast.  Okay, bye!

hi hi hi hi it's me hi guys hi

Hey,

So Torcy is great haha, uh can't really remember this week.

On Tuesday, we had zone conference and got Facebook.  Weird, very weird (I liked living in my bubble) and I got to see some homies. Oh and my tablet stopped working so I was pretty old fashioned this week. That was pretty dommage.

Oh miracle for this week: On the way to a baptism Sunday night we decided to walk instead of taking Trajet and on the way there Sœur Hicken was like "Ah Ramadans!! Where do they live?!" (The dad is less active and his wife +twins aren't members) So we looked it up and we were standing right in front of the gate to their apartment. And the gate was unlocked :') God is great and lets us into apartments, so we made it up to their floor and they were home! It stank of alcohol and he was so super drunk, but Soeur Ramadan was so glad we came. She looked so stressed. We prayed with her and her kids and we are going back next Sunday. I'm so excited to work with this family!! (Also, I kinda halfway got proposed to by Frére Ramadans drunk brother. Those French men, I'll tell ya.)

My first normal Sunday at Church was great. The ward is pretty big, a little bigger than Nivelles and the members are pretty sweet (except the guy who asked me to speak next Sunday)!

This week we have exchanges and a primary activity so we are keeping pretty busy. Life is good. :)

Have a good one my folks.♡  LOVE YOU GUYS.

(her tablet stopped working after the Facebook download.. so there is only one random picture)

Week 25: TORCY 🇫🇷

HEY,

It was a long stinking week. From packing & bizing in Belgium to meeting new ward members & amis here in Torcy! France smells good. My new companion is Sœur Hicken, and she LOVES to cook. How about that. And she is my first comp from the 801. Our district is super cool and they live across the street from us so we play soccer together in the morning and they just make me laugh so life is good. 🤙

For conference on Sunday we had a portes ouvertes (an open house), we had a bunch of signs + posters and a table set up with brochures + cookies (basically just one upping TJ's) It wasn't too successful but it was a great idea from the ward and now people know that there is a church here!

Last conference I was in the MTC (what in the world?) and I remember thinking about our two investigators and being like wow this talk is so relevant to them, haha it was so much cooler this time thinking about my amis and the people I have met so far on my mission and how well conference addressed their needs. One of the Elders amis, Maria, came to watch conference and I was sitting by her and every time she said amen at the end of a discourse it was like an amen hallelujah from the soul kind of thing and I loved it haha. At the end I asked her what she thought and she said that those testimonies touched her so much and she didn't understand how they were all so relevant for today.
She thought it was amazing how much people can learn from it.
It was also really cool listening to it in French. We watched one session, maybe Sunday morning, I'm not sure.., in English and I realized my notes from the French sessions were a lot more of what I needed to hear or thoughts I had as they spoke.  While in English, I was like waiting for a power packed phrase like 4th floor last door or something haha idk. But there you go, they might have been saying completely different things than I think but conference was great! Comme toujours.

Alrighty that's all I got.  I haven't been to Disneyland yet but I will bientôt. And I have Zone Conference tomorrow and we are getting trained on using Facebook, yikes! Friend me hehe. It's also all three Paris zones so I get so see a couple of homies.🎉

Have a good one.♡
