Rue Du Pourquoi-Pas

Salut ça va ?

I can't really remember my week..it was pretty busy though. Lots of miracles.

We did really well with teaching with members this week! We taught our ami Mikaël with Sr. Letort (this is more for my memory I know you don't know these people haha) and it was 2 hours long. He came to the baptism last week and really was just searching for answers. He is having a midlife crisis and just sold his home and is leaving sans portable for who knows how long or where with a backpack and his Book of Mormon. So it was like a keep your butt here and get baptized and have that kind of restart lesson. We taught about half the lessons and he asked question after question. Sr Letort was on fire but he is still leaving but he will be back and we know it, it's okay #Godsplan :')

We also had exchanges twice this week. The first time me and Soeur Packard just had a good old time in really freaky Batiments. A Satan worshipper was blasting his deep music as he prayed.  I'm serious we ran so fast then got chased by a homeless guys dog (all homeless people have freaky dogs here and look like pirates. I'll get a picture. I don't understand it) then we stopped because there was this old couch sitting on the side walk so we took a lot of pictures sitting in it. And we sat down by a bunch of people and preached the bon parole de Dieu. #ministering

Okay, and then the bus story... I attached as a voice recording. That happened Saturday. First time I've been mocked liked that my whole mission. Like I've had obviously individuals or tiny groups of people but not like that. I was a little ball of anger right after haha not gonna lie :) what a rush
Then yes we taught a beautiful family from Kenya. Amazing amazing like so amazing they are searching for a Church and they are just so put together,  their house was so clean and just the kids participated and were well behaved. They speak English, French and Swahili. So yeah me and Sr Packard just had an exciting time together.

Okay, then Sunday comes and I just was not excited. I'm sorry I really hate Sundays on the mission it's just Nay being a little stress monster all day usually because I forget to get a coke in advance. But anyway we went to the JA class because none of our amis showed up for amis class :( Then we get a text and the other missionaries are like come here you have an ami! We were like comment. So we go at the end and it was Akil. A man from Iraq that we met on the street Saturday. We had given him a Book of Mormon and explained the Plan of Salvation to him, I wrote the address in the book and was kind of like if he comes he comes but he didn't seem too interested, he is Muslim. Well he came and they talked about eternal families in Gospel Principles and he explained to us that like 3 of his brothers were killed as rebellions. Anyway, just sad stories but we asked for a return rendezvous and he said yes Wednesday afternoon I will make a cake and we will talk over tea. So sweet!

Then after church we had a rendezvous with Yoanne, he is in charge of the JA or the young adults. He is so cool my goodness. And then we went to the sketchy batiments to pass by some friends. We met a guy named Oscar on the bus who has member family in Congo. He read the introduction to the Book of Mormon and was like what the heck this makes so much sense so we rode that bus to the terminus where he got off and then had to sit there to go back with a bunch of sketchy people it's okay, Oscar was a miracle !

I'm a little energy ball but I'm also super tired so I'm probably pretty frightening honestly. I can't even sit still to do an hour or 30 minutes of calls. I used to love weekly planning and now I try to squish it into 15 minutes.

Voilà I've survived this week Par la Grâce de Dieu

The Ministry 🙏🏻

Salut la famille et Burrup hehe wesh là mec !

I had a good long week. And so did you...

Tuesday we did a whole ton of finding by contacting but we had a lot of solid contacts so it was just fun. Then we went to a bye-bye milkshake reunion with our JA. This ward's JA...I just love them.

Wednesday..saddest day ever. Woke up early so we could go to the gare to say goodbye to Thomas. Ow. Then we did finding then we had a picnic at parc du thabor to say goodbye to Lafrance (he had a later train the opposite direction) It was like saying goodbye to Camden again the little punks. But we will see him at zone conference :') Wednesday afternoon we had straight finding as well. I can't walk in a circle all day so we went through the old area books and entered all the fiches into our maps that only had an address and no numbers (these never get done, no one ever actually gets to passbys) and we picked an area where there were a few and went! First one was a lady who had a baptismal date back in 2012 who lived in this ginormous batiment. She answered and let us in and we had a lesson with her and her like 25ish yr old son Thomas. He is super interested!!

Thursday we went and saw Juliette all together. We really got into baptism and after this whole weekend she has decided that this church is true and she is tout disposer to be baptized !! MIRACLE. She also made us plantains and chicken 😋 and sang and danced for us. I love her so much.

Friday we had district meeting. Elder Benson who was with me in the Charleroi District in Belgium for two transfers is my district leader, he is in St.Brieuc right now. We have an 8 person district but for some reason it feels so tiny. Then that night there was just a lot going on so we went on splits and me and Burrup taught their amazing amie Maeva and it was just great! Wasn't it burrup? :')

Saturday!! Okay so amazing day. A man named Chari that we met on that most awkward street corner 6 weeks ago got baptized. When we met him on the street he just kind of seemed like he was mocking us but he gave us his number he showed up to a rendezvous we set and we passed him to the Elders because we didn't know if he was weird or not before the rendezvous. Well he isn't, he is so sincere and so ready to serve in the church, he already hasn't missed a week since we met him. Juliette came to the baptism and I told her that he was from Cameroon and she waddled up to him with a huge smile on her face and told him where she was from and he was so touched. He was like I don't feel alone today! His testimony was hilarious. He told everyone how that day we contacted him, 3 different equipes of missionaries had stopped him. He had taken a Book of Mormon 3 times and was planning on rejecting us when we called like he had done in the past. But then he realized that God had placed each and every one of us in his path that day, he was so stubborn that that was what it was going to take. Well now he is baptized, got 'em. Koroma, an amie of Burrup and Packard also got baptized after 6 weeks of being taught. He is just the sweetest little guy. Then we went to lunch with the JA and dinner with the Bishop's family :)

Sunday! The two of them got confirmed while wearing white shirts and ties. And Josué came!! If you remember him from like April, he was a miracle find and came to conference then had a hard time coming because he was in Paris a lot. He has been to church two times since then, always wearing the most amazing booboos. Him and Chari are best friends now and Chari is going to baptize him, he believes next Sunday but it will most likely be in August haha. Aren't they so cool.
Then Sunday afternoon, we all ate Quail eggs raw, I'll send you the video! Then us Soeurs had a batiment bat off at the huge buildings where we did pass bys. We only got through three floors and found 4 families to teach this week!! Too good. Voilà

Today we are going to a lake beach with the JA and playing sports and just chillin maybe doing some shopping... surprise surprise you might get a package this week.

Me and Burrup also danced a lot this week. She's a real good tango partner hehe.

Okay good luck Cam! If you're bored just write me emails and draw me some pictures. 😘

I'm sorry about your grandpa back dad. Get well soon :/

Bye Felicias

Transfer 12 is here!

I'm staying in Renne!! And so is BURRRUP. 😭🎉
McDougal is going to be ZL with Pickard. Lafrance is leaving but he is going to Vannes which is in the same zone! Thomas is leaving for Paris :( McBride is STL in Paris Sud. I probably won't ever see her again here :/

We had zone conference and exchanges with the STL's and district meeting and got dropped by an ami and then had one cool amie Emmanuella agree to pray about Baptism and she recognized us as servants of the Lord with the Holy Ghost.

Also, freaking France won!! Transfer me 1974739 dollars if you guys want a Jersey from the Nike outlet.

Okay love you guys. 6 weeks. Bleh bleh bye

(apparently she wasn't in the mood to write today)

BLAH 🇧🇪 VS 🇫🇷 !!!

Letter from 7/9 (I'm a little behind)

Okay first off, PLEASE RECORD THE WORLD CUP GAME ON TUESDAY AT 20H..NO 12H USA TIME. Wooohoooo I can't decide who I want to win. I think Belgium. Yeah Belgium but allez les bleus!! :) and then record the rest of the games after that. Also I will for real try to find a jersey for Conner. What size? I can ask the members where to get them. Si non there's a cheap little book I can get him from Carrefour with all the players in it. I can't tell you how many times little kids have explained every single person inside it to me when we go over to their house haha.

Well, it's been hot and I basically have died. Not really but I'm covered in bug bites that have bruised from head to toe. Also I got a blister and then put my feet in the ocean for a couple hours and then it got infected and then my foot was swollen all week but I didn't know what to do so I just walked around all day and then the Elders finally sat me down on Saturday and took a hot needle to my foot. Yummmayyy

Then the 4th of July 🎉🇺🇸🎉 We made a breakfast for a few families in our ward who we just love and wanted to say thanks to and sang the Star Spangled Banner and forced America on them! Then afterwards we had a great first lesson with an ami named William with one of our members in a beautiful park, so great! And then we had a district meeting BBQ with a recent convert from Anthony. (I will tell you about him later so cool)

Then on Thursday we had a fun little surprise party for our DMP and his Thai wife roasted a pig and we (10 missionaries this day) got lost in the really hot French countryside. I sent a lot of people pressed flowers this week.

Voilà ! Pas grands choses. Last week of the transfer this week. And we have zone conference!! Rep day is the 16th, transfer day is the 18th. Ahhh so scary.

 sic em bears

Bye
