10 semaines en plus ?

Coucou Quoi'ts up

I had an okay semaine! Our whole apartment was sick but it's okay "Well I got betta". We also had 3 mangez-vous with the best French families. 1. Aubins (then we went back yesterday for cake and ice cream)  2.Pateas (they own a crêperie man) 3.Évêque Chevée's Family! So we really had some bénédictions this week.

Other than that we did a TON of finding. We even went porting for a couple of hours. Honestly not a whole lot of success at all this week but the three people we did find to teach are really cool!

Saturday we taught two of them! Chari, we decided to pass to the elders because when we met him on the street we couldn't decide if he was crazy.  I mean he might be but he is really serious about progressing like our rendezvous was solid.  Then we taught Arnaud with Soeur Aubin and it was so cool! So he got contacted like a month ago and was given a brochure because he wasn't trop interested and then he texts us and was like, "Hey I read your pamphlet and I want a rendezvous". We were expecting an older French guy but he is a young masters student from a small country in Africa and yeah just so cool. His testimony of Christ isn't there right now and he knows that and he wants to ask questions and he wants to figure out what the truth is. Oh haha, and 40 minutes into the rendezvous he goes "oh that reminds me of that Mormon group in America!" Hahaha oops, coucou c'est nous 😋

This week I also had an angry amie call me and scream at me for 20 minutes. Not gonna lie I laid down and closed my eyes during it. At the end she calmly told me she was free next Monday for a rendezvous.  🙃

Okay picture explanations: I'm working on a whole tub of coconut ice cream with sprinkles as I do language study. Also me and Soeur Packard are working on my essays. She is a great personal tutor. Salut!

Okay so here is the low down on Rep day. I got a call from the AP's.  I'LL BE STAYING IN RENNES!!!! Soeur Burrup will be with Sœur Packard (my favs for real) as Stls and I'll be taking over the second sœur equipe and polishing my new comp Sœur Skouson. They promised I'll be staying here for the rest of my mission. AHHHHH 😍😍 literally the dream.

Okay so really crazy week. Every day I was like what's happening.. I'M SO TIRED!

So first we had a rendezvous with a new ami, Jackie on Monday. She is the first Tahitian I have taught! She has had a baptismal date in the past but wanted her mother's permission, her mom said no but she still has a desire to be baptized. We met her again Wednesday and oh my I just already lover her. Two rendezvous in and she already has a coke waiting for me when we get there. That's a golden ami. :)

Then we took off to Paris. Took some pics (meaning I gave the elders a photoshoot) at the Eiffel Tower then we went to dinner with a huge group of missionaries. Including: MCBRIDE. Burgoyne and Mackay! There were so many equipes in Paris for legality and for mission council it was so fun. McBride and I were able to catch up and have a sleepover @ the Paris apartment. I love her

Thursday was great. Mission Council was actually really fun. Everyone was relaxed and participating and we actually debated a lot of different new topics. Then us Rennes folks went and got cheesecake to share at the gare. ♡♡

Friday, we had district meeting. It was Eyring's last one so we made it a little special and did it at Parc du Tabor and ended with doing flan sucks. That tradition is kind of dying in our mission so it was fun to see a ton of missionaries do it for their first time hahaha. When I went to do it I dumped it all over myself and Elder Crane (who is leaving our district..tragic) *see picture*

Saturday! We went to our DMPs house and ate Thai food and did yard work for a few hours!  I got a little distracted and just searched for escargot families with my little friend. It was a really good day..but when we got home my tag flew off of me and literally bounced into the toilet bowl. Life is hard.

Salut friends,

This week we went to Nantes for exchanges with Sœur Giles and Sœur Morrison. I love Sœur Giles. We went to teach a new ami and when we got there her brother had died that day..We were really awkward. But she has a lot of faith and she is wanting to be baptized. We also went to their district meeting and held goats (ew sick!!) and got stopped on the street by a really really really freaky TJ.

Then on Wednesday we had a miracle with a guy named Karl. We were contacting and we reached a certain point where we would usually turn around but we were like a couple more invites around here! Then we saw this guy on a bench and as we were walking towards him he turned around and gave us a slight smile. We went around and talked to him and long story short he was like "I know it's not coincidence I met you today, it's an answer to my prayers. I'm supposed to be all the way over there looking for work but I felt like I should sit down and take a minute to think." He is in a hard situation right now and has a big decision to make so we prayed with him and when we looked up afterwards he had tears running down his cheeks. He said after meeting us he is going to try his hardest to stay in Rennes. He was really interested in learning more about the Book of Mormon and coming to church!

Haha okay then Saturday night there was a JA Soirée chez l'évêque so we invited a ton of students we contacted like forever ago. This girl named Hélène, I met I don't even know when on exchanges with someone else, was like yeah I would love to. I had no idea who she was.  It was so funny we were waiting in the Bishops car for her to get off the bus and we just waved at every young girl who got off to see who would get into the huge van hahaha. Anyway, she was so so nice and she made good friends and we became best friends :)

Gabriel got confirmed! They were late to sacrament so we were really stressed but they made it just on time, and his dad came! Woo! ♡

We have mission council Thursday. We are going to Paris Wednesday night to go to dinner by the Eiffel Tower since we have to stay over night anyway hehe. I can't believe it might be my last week in Rennes. I have major anxiety over transfer decisions but you know it'll all work out and before I know it I'll be home and missing not being transferred to random cities in Europe (but honestly pray for me I'm scared).

Salut!

Holy moly this week was so good guys. We started with Rennes exchanges and I was with Soeur Bennett (I will attach our picture when she sends it to me) We taught their ami,Cassie, who they found their first day here, she had a baptismal date but it dropped. It was their first lesson with her in a while and it was so sweet, she found a testimony in the things she first doubted and passed our practice interview. And we found a family!
Can't remember what happened in between but then we had an amazing day Saturday. We started with morning finding and it was perfect outside and there was a huge Marché and a little group of weirdos playing amazing music (I will add video to drive)  A random guy at the market came up to us and was like "are you from Iowa?" and we realized how many colorful doors there are here so we were door finding while we were contacting.  I LOVE RENNES.  Then that afternoon there was a baptism for the ZL's ami, Manuel, and a few of our ami's came, and we had dinner with the Bishop's family! It was the first time I smelt a grill in about 15 months.  I teared up a little.
SUNDAY: We were running around a lot making cookies and filling out fiches and trying to work technology for the baptism and it all came together (besides no one filling the font until 20 minutes before he was baptized ugh) Gabriel was so excited and so was the whole ward. His mom wanted to surprise him with a musical number so we sang I am a child of God with her and little Aléna in Portuguese and Spanish,  we sang in English, and French. I can't describe the feeling that was in that room, but I really hope his dad felt it too. I'm positive he did. Isn't the Castro family the most beautiful thing. I'm going to marry a Venezuelan.

Also, since our Indian moved back to India we found a new Indian who came to ward game night and the baptism, haha the ward thought it was the same Indian.

I also learned how to make baguette. Marry me.

Salut!

So I decided I'll just use one stupid thing the elders say as my subject line each week. It was a close one this week, but Elder Eyring won.

Donc. I survived, we got back to Rennes just fine after Pday and prepared for our full day of bus rides and entertaining amis at the temple on Tuesday! I wish I could say it was a good experience but it was a little bit more on the stressful side. Ca vaut la peine.

Wednesday we made food for zone conference and did a lot of finding, super great.
Thursday we had zone conference and interviews.
Friday we had a lesson with the Castro's! Gabriel is so ready for his baptism this Sunday!! Ahhh.
Saturday we visited Juliette and taught her how to sing How Great thou Art and she taught us how to sing little Cameroon songs.
Sunday we had amis at church and a ward repas afterwards and I talked my family and life is good.

I think I'm the happiest when I'm working hard, and also have fun people around me that make me laugh.  So life lesson,  I am always going to keep those two things constant. I'm so thankful for my mission and I'm so excited for these last three months that I have to grow closer to my Savoir, improve my French and enjoy not making my own life decisions ... okay bye!

Salut!

Honestly a crazy week. Only good things happened, I just feel all over the place. Like it's beautiful outside right now but there is a fly that really likes my coconut face mask.

On Monday as ya know we had mission council in Paris! It was cold and we had to actually leave early and miss all of the important things to catch a train so not much to say about that one haha. But then when we got back we had district meeting and played gator ball leaving me limping for the rest of the week because none of us have any chill. My comp played rugby in High school and she basically took me out #uglycompinventory

On Tuesday we travelled to Cholet for their district meeting and exchanges. It was so great! I got to be with Sr. Peterson who I was with in the Brussels zone. We taught their ami with a baptismal date (so cool) and did a lot of porting! It made me miss Nivelles a lot.

Wednesday night we visited the Castro's. They are a part member, we have been teaching their son Gabriel who is 9 and is seriously the sweetest kid. We've been preparing him for baptism for a while now, just waiting for permission from his dad to set a date. They picked a date! May 20th Gabriel is getting baptized. ♡

We had some other really great lessons and met some cool people on the street. Then we had Stake Conference on Sunday! We translated for an American family, that's always a little stressful but the talks were good. :)

For Pday we are all heading to Mont St. Michelle. Lol we all decided to go preppy French and the Elders were down so we are about to look so dang good. Then Tuesday we are leaving at 4h30 for a ward temple trip where we will be with recent converts doing baptisms for the first time! Then we will get home at 23h. Oh la la. Then Thursday we have Zone Conference. And then MOTHERS DAYYY. 🌼🌼 Love you mom.

Hi so pas grandes chose cette semaine. Mostly because I don't remember anything. St. Malo was dope I can't believe that was a week ago I found crabs and snails and ate baguette and did cartwheels and built sand castles.

I QUIT COKE THIS WEEK. I think I drank a little Thursday morning but since then I was like nope I'm putting my swim suit on right as I get home so it has officially been 3 whole days without and I feel good besides my migraines and shaky hands and legs and slight grumpiness 💃💃 MOM, DAD ARE YOU PROUD?!

I have really bad hives, yikes! The mission doctor was like sorry sucks to suck so I'm dealing. One of our amis husbands came in with a huge text book (he literally gave it to us to keep) that goes through the whole Quran and explains it and told me that I will never return to my Mormon parents because by the time I'm finished at his house I will be converted to Islam. I think Islam is real interesting and I even bought Le Quran at a book Marché this week (it has a cute middle eastern design on it I couldn't resist) but no worries the church is true and the Book of Mormon is my favorite and I believe in eternal families and not being saved by myself and God is more than our creator He is our loving Heavenly Father :')

This week the weather was perfect and we talked to so so many people on these beautiful streets of Bretagne. Our mission has a standard of excellence of inviting 20 people a day to meet with us again, one morning we were out and we had lanced 19 and our bus was about to come but we were like we gotta get to 20 before we head home for lunch! Next guy we stopped we were able to invite and he accepted!! If you work towards an inspired goal God definitely blesses. Woohoo.

We also met a miracle ami who we just realized is a miracle ami. He came up to us while we were waiting for a bus to go to centres-villes, we talked the whole way there and gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he would come to our ward game night on Saturday. Then we ran into him Saturday when he came up to us again and said that he could no longer come so we just invited him to church pretty casually not expecting him to come. Sunday Morning in walks Laurent nicely dressed and ready to be there. Stayed the whole entire time. He started reading the Book of Mormon. He told us after that he is "won" and this is his time to turn to his Savior. He was just so chill about everything we didn't realize how cool he was.

We had a bunch of great first rendezvouses with middle aged French women so that's rare and really refreshing. Sweet things.

Also Elder Eyring came in here and swiped one of our amis by meeting them randomly on the street and setting a baptismal date with them!? A man that me and Packard met on exchanges last week has a baptismal date whoa, Rennes is a place of miracles!

Also, I obviously get so excited to stop couples I trip in the process and die. They're like《bye Felicia》

Today we are going to Brocéliande with Michelle. She is picking us up then we are getting lunch and going exploring. If I'm thinking of the right place it's where King Arthur and some knights from the round table hung out. I miss her I'm excited to see her!

Also, exchanges start back up again this week! I'm stoked see yah!
