Week 15: Nivelles + Fêtes 🇧🇪

It was a good week for the Nivelles Sœurs. Nivelles was busy all week because it was Belgium's Independence day on Friday. One night I heard "twist & shout" from our apartment. I seriously love how much they listen to English music haha. And we got some good belg frites with a good fat pesto hamburger bonne appetit I am 100% living the phrase "profitée"

Monday night we went to Lille/V'Dasq for exchanges! So fun, me and Sœur Buchanan did lots of finding and I learned so much! People in France are so different from the Belg, I feel like I am going to get culture shock all over again when I leave Belgium.

We did lots more porting this week. I think I am an odd one because I absolutely love porting. It's always a good game of what's behind this door; shirtless fat man? Jehovah's witness? Old lady with freaky make up? Someone who will want to get baptized next week? People aren't pressé so usually they will at least listen to who you are and they will either say non mercie or have a good conversation with you. We had some good conversations and met some cool potential amis, definitely had weird things happen so yeah 🤙

On Friday we went to Namur's finding day and because it was the 21 de Juillet, traveling was terrible. We went up to Bruxelles and down but somewhere they decided to change route, we saw a lot of the Dutch mission, so beautiful, and got to Namur eventually.  Namur is the prettiest ville I have seen so far in Europe. In the morning we went contacting with a member who was actually just recently baptized, it was so great. She was so good at talking to everyone but at the end she was like "oh this is hard. People are difficult." Yeah. Yeah..at the end of the day our train stopped half way to Charleroi and we had to bus it to that gare then catch a train chez nous, it took forever and me and Soeur McBride were sick because we ate raw chicken the night before (funny story) always always good times traveling.

Saturday was such a feel good. Nancy and her family are moving to this beautiful old home in Buzet so we went to do some gros cleaning. I felt like I was on Extreme Home Make Over, the home is beautiful but it was filthy. Her and her husband invited us to stay for lunch after everyone had left and they are just doing so well after they've had the hardest year. We stayed and helped for a few more hours and just talked to them as we worked and it felt so so good. I love their family and I am so happy they are having some good change.

OH, Patricia Patricia. We have been recently meeting with Patricia who is the neighbor/friend of Beatrice and John De Lauw. Her husband passed away a few months ago and she has been coming to church with them recently. She has been feeling the spirit so strong in her life and she loves the peace she feels in the chapel. She is so amazing to talk to! We have a rendezvous with her and her son this week and they are going to make us American food (Caesar salad ..heck yeah) because they love America probably more than we do. Haha. Her son was actually paralyzed when he was 14 in a motocross accident, he is in all the newspapers here recently because he is a race car driver..or something cool like that. He is definitely a really super cool guy.

Happy Birthday BroBro
